Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg, Presented by Cadillac
From the first green flag in Thursday’s practice session to the final checkered flag today, Sloan Urry, dominated the Nissan Grand Prix of St. Petersburg. Fresh off his maiden victory last weekend at the Circuit of The America’s, the 22-year old from Salt Lake City topped the charts in every session, scored the pole position and won both races on the city streets of St. Petersburg. Urry now leads the 2016 Porsche Cup Championship by a significant margin. Urry and his TruSpeed Autosport team will enjoy a month off after opening the season with back-to-back double-headers.

Sloan on Race 1 (round 3): “It was another great race for us and my crew have just done a great job all weekend. I had a good race and a great pace, I was running qualifying pace and I got a bit over-zealous and made a small mistake. After that I had to just focus on the checkered flag and take care of my racecar. It was fun out there today and I am so grateful to give SecurityNational Mortgage a victory here with so many representatives present to celebrate with us!”
Sloan on Race 2 (round 4): “What an incredible weekend for my team and my sponsors. We’re definitely off to a strong start this season…all the way around. I have awesome partners in SecurityNational Mortgage and it’s especially nice for us because they entertain at the track at almost every race. It always gives me an extra push to have my own cheering section! My team gave me a terrific car all weekend and I am proud of those guys. It will be nice to savor our success and to re-charge our batteries for a few weeks, but I can’t wait to get back on track at Barber (Motorsports Park).
Tyler Tadevic, Team Owner: “We were on pole, led every lap and won the races. It was great to see Alec (Udell) back giving us a big push in race two. Sloan just did a fantastic job, no mistakes. TruSpeed was racing across the United States today. We were leading the 4-hour race in Willow Springs and TruSpeed driver Tom Haacker got together with lapped traffic and damaged the radiator. That’s the way it goes, but it was great for us to lead most of the four-hour race. It was a crazy race with rain and everything else but they did a heck of a job. In Texas at the Pirelli Drivers Cup, the TruSpeed crew won the masters class with Larry Schnur in the Fuelsafe car on Saturday and Sunday. Tommy Haaker raced in Willow Springs then flew to Texas where he finished first in the Platinum class in the Mother’s Car Care Care. Jason Godfrey did not finish in race one due to contact with traffic but rebounded nicely with a second place finish in the Diamond Category. Jim Slavik proudly represented in the Zorro car with a solid finish in the GT4 and rounding out the weekend was Ray Shahi in the Sterling Collision Porsche. He had two great races as well.”
