Sloan Urry’s Fast Facts:
4 Races, 4 Poles and 3 Wins: Sloan Urry’s dominating performances at the first four races have rocketed him to the championship lead. He’s accumulated 456 championship points in four races and has a 19-point lead over Alec Udell.
Last Year at Barber: Sloan scored two of his 13 podiums in 2015 at Barber with a pair of third place finishes.
Since St. Pete: Sloan has been working seven days a week from his office in Salt Lake City. He is preparing to launch Avasis…a new construction management software. The 23-year old Utah native conceptualized the program and he has spent the last few years developing the software with programmers in India. The innovative software is expected to make a major impact in the industry.
Driver’s Point of View: “The downhill section at Barber is one of my favorite sections of any racetrack. Managing the throttle, braking and curbing is challenging but so much fun. When done correctly, a lot of time can be made up there. Anytime there is curb jumping, I like it.”
Sloan Urry on the Weekend Ahead: “Last year it was an extremely competitive weekend and I am expecting the same this year, and I am looking forward to a good battle with Alec (Udell). Barber is one of my favorite tracks on the circuit and one of my favorite road courses. It is beautiful, it offers a lot of variety in corners and elevation changes. It can be tough to get the car right, sometimes you have to sacrifice something in one area to maximize another section of the track. It takes some work, but a good car and a fast lap is extremely rewarding at Barber. We’re off to strong start this year with our poles and wins and I hope to keep that winning streak alive this weekend!”
Tyler Tadevic, Team Owner, TruSpeed Autosport: “We were proud to have a presence at Long Beach last weekend even though we weren’t racing. We represented our partner Mother’s Car Care Products at the Mother’s Polish Exotic Car Show on Sunday and Sloan did a great job as a guest commenter on the live broadcast. We are really glad to be back racing in Alabama this weekend and we are looking to continue the winning momentum from St. Pete. The fans in Alabama know their stuff and always turn out at Barber, and we are excited to welcome 60 guests from SecurityNational Mortgage.”
